TRAVERTINE
Travertine is a beautiful natural limestone that comes in many variations. Its fibrous, marble-like texture and subtle earth-tone colors make it one of the most popular stones used for building materials, especially flooring.
Travertine Cleaning
Travertine and grout cleaning by Bizaillion Stone Floor Restoration goes far beyond what you could do on your own. To start, we use commercial-grade equipment which makes a huge difference!
We use a diamond abrasive pad to help remove or lighten deep stains in the travertine. Travertine stain removal can be a very difficult process. But our unique process goes beyond the surface of the travertine. Although we can’t guarantee every stain will be removed completely, our process and experience give us the ability to remove stains no other company can remove.
Travertine Restoration and Protection
A beautifully restored travertine floor is an investment that should be protected. Learn about the best ways to make everyday cleaning easier and how to protect your restored floors for decades.
Holes & Cracks
We don’t want to brag but filling holes and cracks in travertine is an art. We use epoxy made specifically for travertine and marble. It’s not the least expensive filler (or the easiest to work with!) but it is the best, and that’s why we use it. Many other companies use grout to fill holes, but that is not a permanent solution.
Diamond Honing
Diamond honing is a wet sanding process that removes a very thin layer of the stone. Natural stone mined from the earth is put through an initial diamond honing process to create a flat and polished look. Over time, the stone will wear down, much like wood floors. We repeat the honing process to restore shine and remove any light scratches. Our process of diamond honing is very different from that of many of our competitors, who use diamond-abrasive pads, an inferior product that produces an inferior result.
Lippage Removal
Lippage just means uneven tiles. We cannot run our diamond pads across floors that have too much lippage as they need a flat surface to create a smooth, polished finish. But, don’t worry, we can remove the lippage before diamond honing. Your floors will look amazing and you won’t trip on that tile that sticks up anymore!
Diamond Polishing
At Bizaillion Stone Floor Restoration, polishing is the final step in your floor’s restoration journey and is done after diamond honing, as this produces the best (and most beautiful!) results. We use a form of polishing called crystallizing. More about our unique process here, but trust us when we say that crystallizing is a great option as the last step in polishing a floor because most floors will only require crystallizing 2-3 times in the time a homeowner lives in a house. Crystallizing takes lots of experience and understanding to become proficient. At Bizaillion, we know how to use these polishes to strengthen, expand the life of a floor and protect it from losing its luster.
Sealing
Sealing is essential if you want to preserve your floor’s natural beauty. Additional benefits of sealing your travertine tile floors? Keeping them clean will require much less effort. And quality sealers (the kind we use) prevent mold or bacteria from developing.
