The Bizaillion Stone Restoration team was recently hired by a homeowner to restore an outdoor kitchen that suffered from several seasons of Texas weather. The outdoor tables and grill countertop are made of Lueders Limestone, a beautiful surface, but one that is susceptible to damage from weather and harsh cleaning chemicals because it is so porous.

These surfaces became badly etched from years of rain and weather.   Once the etching happens, it opens up the porosity of the stone even more.  This allowed mold and mildew to start growing inside the stone’s pores, which caused the dark stains to develop on the surfaces.  Our process to clean and restore these surfaces started with diamond grinding the stone’s surface to remove the top layer.  This means we use a diamond-crusted polishing pad to remove a very thin layer of the stone’s surface – about the thickness of a piece of paper.  Given the poor state of these surfaces, we probably removed the thickness of 5-10 sheets of paper to completely remove all the stains and etching.

Once the grinding is completed, we continue to polish the stone with diamond pads with an increasingly fine grit to restore a beautiful natural shine and luster to the surface. We then apply DryTreat, a professional grade impregnator sealer, to protect the stone from the elements and help maintain its like-new appearance.

The customer was so happy with the outcome of our restoration that they gave us a 5-star google review that included before and after photos of the job. We are so grateful for happy clients like this!
